Long Island For Colombia announces honorees of the inaugural
Premio Tres Orquídeas

New York, February 1, 2007 – Long Island For Colombia, a non-profit foundation with headquarters on Long Island, NY, announced today the recipients of the inaugural Premio Tres Orquídeas, which will be presented at an official ceremony on Saturday, March 31, 2007 on the occasion the organization’s 8th anniversary gala celebration fundraiser.

Recipients of Premio Tres Orquídeas 2007 are: Orlando D. Montán, Director, Verizon Plus Sales Support, Verizon Communications in Camarillo, California; Dr. Harold Fernandez, Cardiothoracic Surgeon at St. Francis Hospital in Roslyn, Long Island, NY, one of the premier Heart Centers in the United States, and a member of Cardiothoracic Surgery PC, a private medical group of Cardiologists and Surgeons, also in Roslyn, NY; and Gladys Serrano, LCSW, Executive Director of the Hispanic Counseling Center in Hempstead, Long Island, NY.

“It’s our honor to recognize three distinguished Hispanics who have excelled through their achievements and professional success, their service to the public, and their support of charitable causes. Each one represents the best in our community, and their exemplary attributes enhance the beauty of our magnificently diverse Hispanic community. Long Island for Colombia invites the entire Colombian-American and Hispanic community in the NY Tri-State area to join us at our anniversary gala fundraiser and awards presentation of Premio Tres Orquídeas. The gala will take place on Saturday night, March 31st at Verdi’s of Westbury, in Westbury, Long Island, NY.
